Student Groups

Skills USA

All students enrolled at SCRTC are eligible and are encouraged to participate in SkillsUSA. This club develops leadership and professional development competencies. SkillsUSA members may participate in leadership and competitive activities on the local, state, and national skill level.

Students from SCRTC have placed in both state and national competitions. Local students have been very successful at the state level, receiving many gold, silver, and bronze medals each year. National bronze medals have been earned by students in the CNA program and the Computer Electronics program.

SkillsUSA Links Leaders, Technical Training

The following is a portion of an article written by State Parlimentarian and SCRTC student Riley Sluzenski. The rest of the article can be read  on the mainepublic.org website

There are lots of different organizations, clubs, and teams that students can join in high school. I have participated in many of them, including the volleyball team, academic decathlon team, and student council. However, arguably the most important organization I am a part of is SkillsUSA, a national organization that promotes leadership and holds technical competitions for middle school, high school, and college students.
